Allen House
Located at 40 Sycamore Avenue & Rt. 35, the Allen House in Shrewsbury is by far the most recognizable attraction in the borough. The structure was initially built as a rest house for the Stillwell family from New York City. The head of the family, Richard, was a successful merchant who lived with his wife Mercy and had their eight kids brought up for the most part in Shrewsbury. When the couple died, the house was sold to a man named Josiah Halstead in 1754, and he transformed it into the Blue Ball Tavern. In 1779, Loyalists soldiers raided the tavern in search of Continental troops and killed three of them, while also wounding at least nine. The raid eventually became known as the Allen House Massacre. Today, the attraction is open for viewing from May to September by appointment.
9/11 Memorial
The 9/11 Memorial in Shrewsbury is located across the street from the Municipal Center. It is a memorial garden featuring a sculpture on a stone pedestal on the pathway to a gazebo. There are engraved bricks as well as benches along the path, too. It is a popular local attraction for tourists in Monmouth County.
Christ Church
This local attraction on 380 Sycamore Avenue, Broad St, in Shrewsbury is renowned for its tours of the historic graveyard, which by the way is the resting place of the most famous and notable local figures from the community and the church. Most of the people buried in this local graveyard are from the last 300 years. The reason why you should find time to visit Christ Church is its unique and classical architecture and environment that will make you feel you’re in a different time.

All-Member Holiday Show
The All-Member Holiday Show by the Guild of Creative Art runs from December 1 up to January 2 and takes place at 620 Broad St. right in the heart of Shrewsbury. The highlight of the show is the presentation of cash and carry and gift tables. There is a potluck dinner after the yearly general meeting.
Fabulous Food a Holiday Art Exhibition and Model Train Display
Another exciting event near Shrewsbury happens in the vicinity of the Monmouth Museum. The highly popular Holiday Model Trains display takes place in the Main Gallery of the museum, where there also is an International Juried Art Exhibition. Each year there is a different theme, while the model train layout incorporates an airport and the Jersey Shore seaside boardwalk amusement park.
